Venue reviews website helps to boost accessibility for football fans by sponsoring Hibernian Disabled Supporters’ Association
EuansGuide.com, the disabled access review website has today announced its sponsorship of the Hibernian Disabled Supporters’ Association.
This comes following the Club’s efforts to improve and promote its accessibility and establish itself as a truly inclusive Club.
In supporting the HDSA, EuansGuide.com is working with them to promote the accessibility of Easter Road for both home & away disabled fans.
The partnership will also encourage all members of the Hibernian Disabled Supporters’ Association to review their experiences at Easter Road and at stadiums around Scotland when they travel to away games.
Euan MacDonald, the site’s founder and himself a lifelong Hibs fan said, “Scottish football grounds often have very good disabled facilities. We want to work with the Disabled Supporters Associations to let people know what is available and suggest improvements where necessary. We want to make it easy to find out about visiting stadiums that you haven’t been to before. I know that some fans who want to go to away matches don’t because they are wary about how accessible it may be and what they might find when they get there. Hopefully with good quality information, combined with personal accounts from people who have been there, we can change that.”
Gary Smith, Secretary Hibernian Disabled Supporters’ Association said:
“We are delighted to be in partnership with Euan’s Guide as we have the same goals of making football accessible for everyone. We wholeheartedly support the site’s aims to promote accessibility for disabled people.”
Whether Hibs or Hearts, Ross County or Queen of the South, Euan’s Guide is asking all football clubs and their disabled supporters associations to get involved and tell others about the accessibility at their grounds.
